A Shoreline

Eric Green Weathered-2

A shoreline –

Weathered and  worn.

Remnant memories –

Some rounded smooth,

Softened by time,

Others tattered and thrown.

Ephemera –

Scattered and sown.

Imprinted lives –

Found with great care,

Riches long past,

Others misplaced and unseen.

Ebbing tides –

Marking the passage,

Bring more to survey,

Some bleached by sun and salt,

All twisted  mis-shapen,

Show well their age.

Waterlily

Eric Green Longwood 2017-6134-2

A gilded nymph rises,

from beneath the sea.

Beautiful, distant, bare.

A fair-haired splash of color,

from the azure blue.

Fragile, delicate, rare.

A flash of electric yellow,

Even your reflection shows.

Splash of sunshine on indigo.

Maine

Maine 2016 Eric Green-5619-2

A few lonely pines,

Greeting an onshore breeze,

Chilling but one sole lobsterman,

Venturing out into the early morning mist,

Clothing still wet from days before,

Tossing The lone tiny dory,

Leaving the protective harbor,

Beginning the day,

Working,

Misty,

Lonely,

Chilly,

Wet,
